The final pass: proofreading your resume before you send it
The difference between a good resume and a sent-with-a-typo one is a ten-minute checklist.
Read it backwards
Reading bottom-to-top breaks the flow your brain auto-corrects, so typos and doubled words actually surface. It's the oldest proofreading trick because it works.
Check the consistency
One date format, one tense (past for past roles), one bullet style, consistent spacing. Inconsistency reads as careless even when the content is strong.
Verify the boring facts
Your email, phone, links and every company and date. A dead portfolio link or a typo'd email quietly kills applications.
Get a second pair of eyes
You've read it too many times to see it. One outside read — or a compile that flags the obvious — catches what you can't.
