Fonts, margins and spacing that actually parse
You don't need a designer — you need a few defaults that read well and never break.
Fonts: boring wins
A standard serif or sans (think Times, Georgia, Helvetica, Calibri) renders and parses everywhere. Decorative or embedded webfonts can drop out or turn to glyphs in a parser.
Margins and size
Keep margins around 0.7 to 1 inch and body text 10.5 to 12pt. Shrinking to 0.4in and 9pt to force one page reads as cramped — cut words instead.
Whitespace is not wasted
Space between roles and around headers gives the eye somewhere to rest during a six-second skim. Dense walls of text get skipped, not read.
Consistency signals care
One font family, one date format, one bullet style. resumania's templates lock these so the output looks composed without you fiddling with kerning.
