How to put soft skills on a resume without the clichés
Recruiters skim past 'team player'. They stop for the story that shows it.
The cliché problem
Soft-skill buzzwords are so overused they've stopped meaning anything. Listing them signals that you couldn't think of an example — the opposite of the skill.
Bury them in achievements
Communication becomes 'Wrote the runbook that cut onboarding from two weeks to three days.' Collaboration becomes 'Partnered with design and support to launch the new flow.'
Pick two, prove them
You can't demonstrate ten soft skills on one page. Choose the two the role most needs and show each once, concretely.
Let the reader conclude it
The strongest way to say you're organised is to write a resume that obviously is. Show the trait; don't announce it.
